The UPBS is a multi-purpose school of excellence, designed to take advantage of the present global academic and industry demands and to apply recent development techniques in management, engineering, medicine, science, technology, the emerging information “superhighway” and other allied disciplines, in the delivery of knowledge to students.

Our Faculty
We are careful in the selection of faculty members of University of Port-Harcourt, Sister Universities and private-sector professionals in Nigeria and abroad as facilitators. Their choice, in part reflects their expertise in teaching and professional experience. As a matter of deliberate policy, 60% of facilitators are from the University system (40 % from the University of Port Harcourt and 20 % from Sister-Universities) while 40% are from the Industry to ensure the Students gain the knowledge, tools, and relationships necessary to drive results at the highest levels of global business management. We are committed to creating a vibrant academic and social environment that treasures academic excellence.

UPBS has linkages with Universities, Research Institutes and other organisations involved in high-level human resources development, capacity-building and innovation. The University of Port Harcourt Business School like its counterparts in America, Europe and Nigeria, operates as an independent unit that reports directly to the Senate of the University. It has a Governing Board, an Advisory Board and an Academic Board, directly responsible for the growth and development of the School.
